3- 15 Sec SAT Essay Prep Tips: Basic Structure, Introduction & Body Paragraphs and Persuasive techniques.
![]() As I continue developing TheTikTokTeacher.com, I hope to feature teachers across the world using TikTok in the classroom. The platform is relatively new to me (less than 6 months), but I see huge potential in using it to build relationships with our students as well as teach content 15-60 seconds at a time. Where and what grade level do you teach? Mrs. Johnson teaches at ROWVA High School in Illinois. She teaches grades 9-12, but is also a 1/2 time Instructional Coach for grades 7-12. How did you become involved with TikTok? The first day of school this year, my students asked me to be in their TikTok. I had never heard of it, so I decided to download it. What benefits and uses do you see with using TikTok in the classroom? As our social media director, I immediately told the kids that ROWVA needed one. They were excited, but told me I should make some too. The first one I made was just of my cat, but I had students I didn't even know yet in 7-8 who were coming up to me to tell me how funny it was. I thought that this could be a great way to let the students see my goofy side, and also model "going all in," which is something I talk about a lot when we do dramatic readings of poetry or act out a scene. I see that it could be a great way to deliver content to students as well. Currently, I am just enjoying being a part of their world and making them laugh, but when the "new" wears off, I can see myself transitioning into more English content delivery. In a humorous way, of course! Be sure to check out Mrs. Johnson's TikToks: @Mrs.Johnson02 or follow her on Twitter @tsuejohnson. Do you want to be featured on The TikTok Teacher webpage?
